Artist/educator Suzanne Altman, discusses Frida Kahlo, the subject of a recent show at The Brooklyn Museum that on how the artist promoted her unique appearance, ethnic leanings and disabilities to recreate herself as a brand. The curators included just 11 paintings and featured artifacts of style and dress that Kahlo used to make a broken body integral to her art.
