Blauvelt Free Library Director, Laura Grunwerg gives a powepoint talk to visiting residents of Thorpe Village on her book, "One Hamlet, Many Blauvelts", a history of our home area that traces back, quite literally, to the entrance of the woolly mammoth, through the Indigenous Peoples who first populated the Tappan Slote,the stew of varied European cultures, and up to the present day. All of the superlatives used to promote adventure films apply to the history, which includes pirates, intrigue, a train-loving judge and a hamlet bent on establishing its own cultural center.
