The Blauvelt Free Library has produced a book on the history of the library which traces the development of the hamlet through the Blauvelt family ancestry, the settlement of the area which was known as Greenbush, through the Revolutionary War, subsequent urban sprawl following the construction of the Nyack Turnpike (Route 59) and the Tappan Zee Bridge. Former Library Director, Laura Grunwerg, has put together a thorough history of Blauvelt, including personal accounts, primary documents, historical artifacts. The library is at the center of the story, from its first faltering steps to the strong and indispensable institution that it is today. Download the book, read, and enjoy!

There is a limited number of copies available at the library for those who want to hold the book in their hand or give it as a gift.
